The RB2L (Removing Barriers to Learning) Team at Abbey is committed to creating an inclusive school environment where every pupil can thrive.

We focus on removing barriers to learning and participation, providing an education tailored to the unique needs of each child, and promoting high standards to ensure all pupils can fulfill their potential.

Our trauma informed approach centers on making sure that every student feels seen, understood, and safe—a crucial foundation for supporting attendance and engagement, especially for more vulnerable students who may lack certain protective factors. By identifying and addressing individual challenges, we work closely with both pupils and their families to remove obstacles that prevent learning, while safeguarding the emotional and physical well-being of every child. Through this holistic and compassionate approach, we ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed and flourish emotionally, socially and academically.
