At Abbey Mead we recognise that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom, therefore, we offer many different activities before and after school for the children to enjoy.
Abbey Clubs 2026/27
We are pleased to announce that we will be offering a range of exciting after-school clubs this year. These clubs will give pupils the opportunity to explore new interests, develop their talents and build a wide range of skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Our programme includes a variety of opportunities, including Intergenerational Club, Arts, Design & Technology (DT), Multisport, Forest School and more. Across the different sessions, children will have opportunities to develop skills such as:
- Creativity and self-expression through arts and creative activities
- Teamwork and communication through collaborative activities and games
- Problem-solving and critical thinking through practical challenges and DT
- Physical skills, coordination and fitness through multisport activities
- Resilience, independence and confidence through trying new activities and overcoming challenges
- Practical and making skills through hands-on projects
- Social skills and empathy through working with others, including across different generations
- Outdoor and environmental awareness through Forest School activities
Booking and Payment
If you would like your child to take part in an after-school club, payment can be made online via MCAS. We are no longer accepting cash payments for clubs.
Places may be limited, so we encourage families to sign up early. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis once payment has been processed.
We are also offering one free club and one subsidised club for children who are eligible for Pupil Premium. If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium and you would like them to attend a club as their free option, please contact the school office.
Collection Arrangements
Children will be taken directly to their club at 3.30 pm. Parents and carers should collect children from the Ross Walk entrance at 4.30 pm promptly.
Please note that repeated late collection may result in your child being unable to continue attending the club.
Changes and New Opportunities
We hope that all of the planned clubs will be able to go ahead as advertised. However, there may occasionally be changes throughout the year due to unforeseen circumstances. We may also be able to introduce additional club opportunities during the year. Any changes or new opportunities will be communicated to families.
We look forward to providing our pupils with a varied and exciting programme of clubs and hope that they enjoy taking part, learning new skills and discovering new interests.

Moving together (Y6)
We run a breakfast club every morning in our lower hall between 7.30am and 8:30am, so that children can have something to eat, and socialise with other children before school starts.
If you have any questions about Breakfast Club please contact the office.
