School closed for emergency logistical planning day Monday 4th January 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

School closed for emergency logistical planning day Monday 4th January 2021

As you will be aware, there has been significant press coverage regarding the opening of primary and secondary schools after the Christmas holiday. As Coronavirus cases have continued to rise and much of the country has now been placed under tier 4 restrictions, the government have delayed the start of face-to-face teaching for secondary pupils. The current advice is that primary schools should continue to fully open.

You may have seen that many of the teaching unions have expressed concerns about the safety of staff returning to school and have advised their members to only teach remotely from home.

Whilst we gather information about which staff wish to exercise their right to teach remotely and not face-to-face, we are unable to open to children tomorrow-Monday 4th January 2021.

We appreciate that this is very short notice and apologise for any inconvenience caused. These are exceptional times and we have not taken this decision lightly.

Principals will be in touch tomorrow with further information. Thank you for your ongoing support at this challenging time.

Yours sincerely,

Carolyn Robson CBE          Sarah Ridley
